Overview

Zadinga is a retail management app designed to help small to medium-sized retail businesses manage their daily operations, including inventory management, sales tracking, and billing. The goal of the project was to create a user-friendly app that could integrate these tasks and improve overall business efficiency.

My Role

As the UX Designer, I was responsible for conducting research, designing user flows, and creating the overall user experience for the app. My focus was on understanding user needs, simplifying workflows, and ensuring that the app was easy to navigate, while also addressing key pain points in retail management.

Problem Statement

Retail businesses were facing significant challenges in managing their operations, as they relied on multiple disconnected tools for inventory, billing, and sales tracking. This fragmentation led to inefficiencies, data inaccuracies, and wasted time. Zadinga aimed to provide an integrated solution that could consolidate these essential tasks into a single app, allowing retail store owners to manage everything in one place.

Research & Discovery

We conducted research to identify the pain points of retail business owners. Key findings included:

  • Fragmented Tools: Store owners were using separate tools for inventory management, billing, and sales tracking, leading to inefficiencies.

  • Complex Inventory Management: Users struggled to keep track of product quantities, pricing, and stock levels in an organized manner.

  • Cluttered Interfaces: Existing tools presented too much information at once, overwhelming users with irrelevant data.

Design Process

  1. User Research & Flows
    Based on stakeholders interviews and market analysis, we developed user flows to map out key tasks, from onboarding to managing inventory and processing sales. This helped ensure a smooth, intuitive experience for users as they navigated through the app.

  1. Wireframing & Prototyping
    We created wireframes for each feature of the app, including the onboarding process, inventory management, billing, and sales analytics. These wireframes were iterated based on feedback from stakeholders and potential users during usability testing.

  1. Feature Design
    The app was designed to provide an end-to-end solution for retail store owners:

  • Inventory Management: Users could easily add products via barcode scanning, track stock levels, and manage detailed product information.

  • Billing & Payments: Integrated payment features, including split payments, payment confirmation, and receipt generation, were designed to streamline the billing process.

  • Sales Analytics: A real-time sales dashboard that presents key metrics, allowing users to quickly understand their store's performance.

  • Onboarding Flow: The onboarding process was designed to be simple, ensuring that users could easily set up their store and start managing inventory.

The final design provided a cohesive solution for retail businesses, integrating essential features such as:

This project deepened my understanding of how to design user-centric applications for complex business needs. By focusing on simplifying workflows and using user feedback to iterate on designs, I was able to deliver a product that made retail management easier and more efficient for store owners. I gained valuable experience in translating research into actionable designs and working collaboratively with other team members to deliver a successful product.
